Lean Implementation – Automotive Manufacturing Opportunity

Turning Point Search is seeking a professional to support Lean manufacturing deployment at multiple Automotive Manufacturing plant locations. This is a direct hire opportunity into our client, a Tier One full-service supplier whose specialties are metal stamping, modular weld assemblies, BIW structures and components. They are still in the relatively early stages of their lean process deployment within the United States, and they’re looking for someone who can bring a level of expertise to the coordination of all lean tools and methodologies across the plants.  This role will be based out of Tecumseh, MI (or possibly Lansing, MI) and involve 40-70% U.S. travel.

 Role Overview:

·         Coordination of all lean-tools (cross plant), that means coordination, revision, improvement, and development of the new lean tools

·         Process planning, controlling, reporting, escalation lean installation

·         Prove specialist support for lean manufacturing deployment

·         Suggest and define scope, establish customer focus for lean projects - local workshop plans, etc.

·         Provide leadership, facilitation and coaching to operational local lean teams in all group plants

·         Influence the deployment strategy and advise at plant level - presents of central office at every workshop plan deployment

·         Highly skilled in Lean Practice with wide understanding of lean tools

·         Work with transfer knowledge to local lean teams by driving workshops and practice meetings

·         Liaise with Lean Managers to report progress and status to plant management, i.e. lean - audit

·         Support the resolution of any potential roadblocks

·         Develop and implement lean practices in the plant in alignment with plant needs

·         Perform Roll-out process confirmation with plant management

·         Completion of lean area assessments in the plant (auditing)

 

Competencies:

·         Highly skilled in Lean Practice with wide understanding of lean tools

·         Experienced Lean implementer

·         Strong group and moderation skills

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Strong coaching and training competencies

·         Ability to motivate and inspire

·         Up to 70% travel - U.S.
