MLC hosted an event at Oakland University's INCubator featuring Mark Graban on lean health care:
The Michigan Lean Consortium (MLC), along with the Oakland University Pawley Lean Institute and the Oakland University INCubator, recently hosted a lean health care event at Oakland University's INCubator. Mark Graban, author of Lean Hospitals, was the speaker for this event and he focused on how to make health care businesses run more efficiently. Graban had a presentation (which you can view below) and also engaged the participants in discussions.
"I really enjoyed the morning with the MLC group, as there was an immense level of lean experience and talent in the room, which resulted in really stimulating discussions. Michigan is really poised to be more of a leader in the use of lean health care methods," said Graban.
The event began with a light breakfast before Graban began speaking. Graban spoke on the importance of efficiency in the health care field and went through examples of how lean fits in with the health care field getting better results. He gave examples of lean results and began many effective discussions with his audience. The event ended with a lunch and a short presentation on OU's INCubator.
"I really liked the opportunity to learn from Mark AND from other folks applying process improvement programs at health care location," said Christopher Wilson, an attendee and a member of the MLC board.
The event had 36 attendees and had seven new members of the MLC. Visit MLC's Facebook for more photos from the event.
