Randy is the author of three books that reflect the evolution of his approach to organizational improvement: The Basics of Hoshin Kanri, The Intersection of Change Management and Lean, and his forthcoming book, Integrating AI into Lean: How to Drive Smarter Continuous Improvement.
Known as The Lean Contrarian, Randy challenges some conventional Lean thinking with a simple premise: Lean is a means to better business results — it's not the objective. His approach connects three disciplines: ALIGN the organization around what matters most, EXECUTE change successfully, and ACCELERATE problem-solving and Continuous Improvement with AI.
After nearly five decades in manufacturing, Randy remains a practitioner first — drawing his lessons not just from theory, but from the factory floor, the executive suite, and the realities of leading change.
